It is equipped with dual quadrature encoders for precise speed or position control, line sensors, front bump sensors, a comprehensive IMU (3-axis accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyro), six RGB LEDs, and a graphical OLED display. The Turtle Edition is assembled with 75:1 LP 6V Micro Metal Gearmotors, which contribute to an extended battery life. The robot's maximum speed is approximately 0.4 m/s, making it ideal for applications that require slow, controlled speed, such as coordinated swarm robots and introductory robotics courses.

The 3pi+ 2040 Robot is a versatile, high-performance, user-programmable robot with a diameter of just 9.7 cm (3.8 inch). It is powered by a Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller, a 32-bit dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running at 125 MHz, which can be programmed with C++, Arduino, or Python. The robot comes with 16 MB (128 Mbit) of flash memory preloaded with a MicroPython interpreter, allowing immediate programming via its USB C port using the included example Python programs.
