In real life, the Chevrolet Nomad which Chevrolet (General Motors) classed as a two-door sport wagon did not last very long in production, first appearing in 1955. Our Oxford model is based on the second generation of the brand, which came out in 1957. Part of the Bel Air family, it featured long tail fins incorporating the Bel Air name, a redesigned dashboard and front fascia and began to appear in more conservative colour schemes.

The colour scheme adopted for this Oxford release reveals the body in a rich copper with a pleasing contrast of warm vanilla beige to the roof and also the tail fins.  The interior and the seating reflect the beige scheme with the dashboard and steering wheel  moulded in copper.  The exterior trim is chrome including the bumpers which have black tips at each end. A strip of chrome across the black radiator grille features the signature Chevrolet badge.

Our car is registered C.423 T in Ohio in 1957.
